CSIR-HRDG : Stakeholder’s Feedback Section (SFS)

About: CSIR-HRDG is in the process of obtaining the feedback from various stakeholders who have utilized the CSIR Grant under Capacity Building & Human Resource Development (CB-HRD) Scheme. The feedback obtained by HRDG-SFS shall be complied and analyzed. Accordingly; the stakeholders of the scheme are requested to submit their feedback by clicking on the relevant link under each section. The information submitted in the feedback form shall be strictly kept confidential and used for Internal evaluation and will not be disclosed to any other agencies. 01 Fellowships (i) The EMR Division under HRD Group of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) provide CSIR Research Fellowships and Associateships to bright young men and women for training in methods of research under the expert guidance of faculty members/scientists working in University Departments/Institutes of National Importance/National Laboratories and Institutes of CSIR in various fields of Science & Technology and Medical Sciences.

(ii) To commemorate the birth centenary year (2000) of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, who was the first Vice-President of CSIR in the Independent India, CSIR has instituted a special fellowship, namely, "DR. SHYAMA PRASAD MUKHERJEE (SPM) FELLOWSHIP" open to toppers of CSIR-UGC JRF (NET) awardees.

(iii) The EMR Division under HRD Group of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) provide CSIR Research Fellowships and Associateships to bright young men and women for training in methods of research under the expert guidance of faculty members/scientists working in University Departments/Institutes of National Importance/National Laboratories and Institutes of CSIR in various fields of Science & Technology and Medical Sciences.

(v) The EMR Division under HRD Group of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) provide CSIR Research Fellowships and Associateships to bright young men and women for training in methods of research under the expert guidance of faculty members/scientists working in University Departments/Institutes of National Importance/National Laboratories and Institutes of CSIR in various fields of Science & Technology and Medical Sciences.

(vi) CSIR-Nehru Science Postdoctoral research Fellowship Scheme has been instituted to identify promising young researchers with innovative ideas and provide them with training and research opportunities in niche areas of basic science, engineering, medicine and agriculture. The scheme aims at facilitating their transition from mentored to independent research career. CSIR intends to offer one hundred (100) such fellowships every year to promising fresh PhD holders for working in CSIR laboratories with state-of-art R&D facilities.

02 Extra Mural Research-II (Projects) & Emeritus Scientist Schemes (i) The Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) provides financial assistance to promote research work in the fields of Science & Technology, including Agriculture, Engineering and Medicine. The assistance is provided by way of grants to Professors/Experts in regular employment, in the universities, IITs, post-graduate institutions, recognised R&D laboratories both in public and private sectors. Research proposals of applied nature as well as those falling under basic sciences which attempt to solve specific problems being pursued by CSIR laboratories, or in newer and complementary fields, are considered for CSIR support. Priority is given to multi-disciplinary projects which involve inter-organisational co-operation (including that of CSIR laboratories) and to schemes which have relevance to research programmes of CSIR laboratories.

(ii) The Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) provides financial assistance to promote research work in the fields of Science & Technology, including Agriculture, Engineering and Medicine. (iii) The Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) under the Emeritus Scientist(ES) scheme provides financial assistance to superannuated outstanding scientists to pursue research in their respective fields of specializations especially in those which are of relevance to the programmes and activities of of CSIR.

(iv) CSIR-A Special Call for Research Grants for Women Scientists (CSIR-ASPIRE).

03 Pool / DSTP / Senior Research Associateship (SRA) (i) The SRA ship is primarily meant to provide temporary placement to highly qualified Indian scientists, engineers, technologists, and medical personnel returning from abroad, who are not holding any employment in India.

04 Travel & Symposia Grant (i) The Scheme is aimed at providing financial assistance to Young Indian Researchers (Ph.D. Students, Research Associates, resident Doctors, etc.), Emeritus Scientists and non-regular researchers for participation / presenting their research papers in international Scientific Events such as conferences/ Seminars/ Symposia/ Workshops/ Short-term School/ courses/ training programs. The scheme provides up to full reimbursement of the actual airfare from the airport (nearest to the place of work in India) to the venue of the Event and back.

(ii) The Scheme is aimed at providing Partial Financial Assistance (PFA) to Indian regular employees (NON-CSIR) for participation in International Scientific Events such as Conference, Seminar, Symposium, Workshop, etc. abroad. The scheme provides partial reimbursement up to 50% of actual airfare or Rs 30,000/- whichever is less, in economy/excursion class ticket booked through government approved agents from the airport (nearest to the place of work in India) to the venue of the Event and back.

(iii) Under the Scheme, financial assistance is provided to Universities, Academic institutions, Colleges, Government Departments, registered societies to organize scientific events such as Symposia/ Seminars/ Conferences/ Workshops or any other similar scientific activity that provides platform/forum to professionals, scientists, research and educational institutions to share knowledge and experience in various fields of Science and Technology. The Scheme provides partial support towards expenses related to organising Scientific events such as Travel support, Registration Fee Waiver, Promotion (web site, brochures, proceedings), Secretarial assistance, Local hospitality, Venue charges. Capital expenses of any nature such as purchase of laptop, computer, printer, etc. and fees / honoraria to speakers are not covered under the scheme.

05 Awards Section (i) The award is named after the founder Director of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), the late Dr (Sir) Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar and is known as the ‘Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar (SSB) Prize for Science and Technology’.

(ii) The Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) introduced, in 1987, a scheme of Awards for Young Scientists in CSIR system in order to promote excellence in various fields of science and technology.

(iii) The objective of Bhatnagar Fellowship is to recognize and enable outstanding scientists to pursue excellence in scientific research and innovative technology development; thereby enhancing the scientific footprints and technological competitiveness of the nation. The Bhatnagar Fellowship recipients should serve as role models and mentor young scientists.
